Art Factory Studios Wedding: Emily and Schuyler
Emily and Sky's journey began on the digital landscape of OkCupid. Fast forward a few years, and these two found themselves planning a rocking celebration of their union at The Art Factory Studios in Paterson, NJ. I had the honor of capturing the pure joy and magic of their day, and I gotta tell you – it was nothing short of awesome.
The venue, with its rich history as an industrial factory and a movie set, provided the perfect backdrop for Emily and Sky's unique love story. Sky, a screenwriter, and Emily, a journalist, couldn't have chosen a more fitting venue to reflect their artistic/creative backgrounds. The rustic and industrial charm of The Art Factory Studios complemented the couple's vision for a fun, relaxed, and celebratory atmosphere. These elements were evident throughout the day, from the heartfelt vows to the joyous dance floor moments that lit up the evening.
The couple's chosen color palette of dusty blue, sage green, with pops of orange and gold, seamlessly blended with the venue's aesthetic. The result was a visually stunning celebration ready to welcome their guests with warmth, despite the rainy spring day outside.
What struck me most about this couple was the genuine love and admiration they had for each other. Emily praised Sky's sense of humor and playfulness, highlighting his ability to make her smile no matter what–even when they may be grumpy with each other. On the other hand, Sky spoke lovingly of Emily's kind heart–he said the moment he fell in love with her was when she swiped someone into the subway on her way out.
They share a love for games, from HeadsUp to Catan and crossword puzzles, and incorporated this into the reception with a game table for guests. They also gave a nod to their fun side with all of their table numbers featuring a photo of each of them at that age (i.e. 1 year old at table 1). Everything about the event was so much fun, and the guests lit up the dance floor all night long.
It was an absolute pleasure to witness and document the love, laughter, and joy that Emily and Sky brought to their celebration. Their wedding was a true reflection of their personalities, and I'm grateful to have played a role in capturing the moments that will be cherished for a lifetime. Here's to a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and many more game nights for Emily and Sky!
